When Ted Lewis gave an outdoor talk in Grand Marais at Harbor Park, describing the distinctive elements of restorative justice, it seemed fitting to him to draw parallels to folkway traditions, especially since the North House Folk School was literally in view across the bay. He later wrote a full article describing the folk nature of restorative justice work, including how it is home-grown and people-centered.
