We recently lost Ted Lewis, an integral member of the CRJP team and beloved restorative practitioner. Ted both facilitated and trained thousands of people over the years in the art and heart of restorative conferencing. His dedication to the transformative nature of deep listening helped people heal and move forward in life. Ted was a supportive colleague and brainstormer extraordinaire in the RJ community. Who would you call to talk over a difficult situation? Ted Lewis!
A prolific writer and editor, his many works on communication, conflict, and restorative practices provide historical perspective, clear practices, and folk wisdom. His keen insights, calmness in the storm, and belief in humanity are forever woven into the fabric of our RJ community. In a 2018 TV interview, Ted described the power of empathy. In his words: "Not the all, not the nothing, but the tiny, tiny something."
